Polaris Parkway Mall in Columbus, Ohio

We began this project in late August of 2001. Site work and buildings were behind schedule for the slated November holiday season. Finally given the approval to commence work, our team was committed to getting this project completed in time, and stayed through the week, coming home to their families only on Sundays.

The attack on September 11th shut our jobsite down for several days in order to implement security procedures. At the time, The Polaris Parkway Mall was the largest privately owned and financed project in the country. The potential for terrorism was very high, and owners and bankers were worried that terrorist acts could cost lives as well as property damage. From then on security in and out of this jobsite was very tight and a complete inspection of any and all vehicles, personnel and equipment was put into place. This caused many delays as we had hundreds of loads of material being brought in on a daily basis. With all these delays, we were still able to turn over the completed jobsite to the owners on November 7th. Kaufmans and Lord & Taylor were able to open on schedule.
